Terms of Service

Effective August 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Langlang (“Langlang,” “we,” “us”) covering the Langlang app and langlang.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Langlang.

1. The service

Langlang is a language-learning service: practice phrases matched to your level, instant grading with explanations, points and streaks, and real-time voice conversations. We work to keep it available and improving, but we may change, add, or remove features at any time.

2. Your account

You can practice with an anonymous session or create an account with your email address. Keep your credentials to yourself — activity under your account is your responsibility. Anonymous sessions are tied to your device; if you delete the app before creating an account, that progress may be unrecoverable. You must be at least 13 years old to use Langlang.

3. Subscriptions

  • Langlang Premium is a monthly subscription billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account, as applicable.
  • It renews automatically each month until you cancel in your store’s subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under the applicable store policies.
  • We may change subscription pricing; changes apply from your next renewal and the store will notify you as its policies require.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • break the law, or submit content that is unlawful, hateful, or harassing;
  • probe, overload, scrape, or disrupt the service, or try to access another person’s account or data;
  • reverse engineer the app except where the law says we cannot forbid it;
  • use the service to build a competing dataset or train models on our content.

5. Your content

Translations you submit remain yours. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host and process them only as needed to run the service. We may remove content that violates these terms.

6. AI-generated content

Grades, explanations, and voice conversations are generated by artificial intelligence. They are usually good and occasionally wrong — a phrase may be graded harshly, an explanation may miss a nuance, and a conversation partner may say something inaccurate. Langlang is a practice tool, not a certified instructor, translator, or advisor.

7. Our content

The app, the site, and their content (aside from what you submit) belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for learning languages. The ChicagoFLF typeface is public domain, with our thanks to Robin Casady.

8. Termination

You can stop using Langlang or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and liability limits) survive it.

9. Disclaimers

Langlang is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular level of fluency will result.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Langlang will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec, Canada, without overriding any consumer protections that apply where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. Continuing to use Langlang after they take effect means you accept them where permitted by law.
